These works began with simply noticing one of those moments and recognising that its value did not come from how long it lasted. The idea is simple: some things are worth paying attention to precisely because they will not remain.

Each tote is built around a single photograph of the sun at a particular moment in the day, with the image extending across the entire surface of the bag. There is no additional geometry or artwork competing with the photograph; the moment itself is the design. By allowing the photograph to wrap around an everyday object, something fleeting becomes something you can physically take with you.

This is a substantial, heavy-duty tote designed to handle everyday use rather than simply display an image. After more than 250 days of regular sunrise use (including sand, salt water and being dropped in the ocean) my own tote remains in excellent condition and continues to protect everything I carry inside.
